Our approach to work towards Zero Waste:
Journey of Wooden Pallets
If you would like to learn more, feel free to sign up for our upcycling workshop here.
Logs are gathered from FSC certified plantations.

The logs will be processed into wooden planks.

The planks are manufactured into wooden pallets.

Wooden pallets are often used for shipping goods efficiently, keeping them safe & protecting them from damage. However, the pallets might be broken or damaged during the process of shipping.

Instead of disposing them, XCEL will repair & recycle every wooden pallet!
Steps to recondition the pallets:
1. Component breakdown (remove dislodge blocks, broken planks etc)
2. Reconstruct the pallets
3. Grind off the previous logos/markings
4. Heat treatment
5. Deliver the reconditioned pallets!

If the pallets can no longer be repaired or recycled, the materials (including off-cuts) will be upcycled.
Check out our upcycled products here!

The remaining sawdust, wooden chips & shavings will be collected and converted into biomass pellets.

Biomass pellets will be incinerated to generate biomass energy.
...And so the journey begins again!
